This is my recommendation for families and friends visiting Phoenix.
This is an activity 10 minutes from my home. Phoenix Zoo is an excellent activity with children. They have a light show in the winter.
The Botanical Garden has a selection of cacti that may interest you. It also accommodate an art show and a light show.

The great view of Phoenix. You have to climb a small hill. It can be done within 15 minutes. It is ageless, very easy climb. Great scenic photo place of Phoenix. Papago Park offers many trails in the desert. Go in early morning. Always take water with you!

Tempe Marketplace is a modern outdoor mall with beautiful palm trees. Live music, desert snow fall , kids splash park. Great stores and restaurants. It looks magical with all the lights in the winter.

Camelback Mountain is in the heart of Phoenix. It was named after the shape of a camel. You can see it straight as you land at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. It has some more advanced trails. Don't forget to take water with you!
