This is a nice little hike not too far out of town. I think it's only a few miles but the beginning portion is very steep.

Really awesome views of the city from the parking lot. There is a trail that goes further up and I think it's about 5 miles round trip, but the last part is difficult.

It is a beautiful drive out there but a pit pricey to actually get on the ice but very worth it.

Fun local place to go swimming in the Summer. Get there early because during the Summer it can fill up fast! They have a few picnic tables and some shade.

Huge park in Anchorage with disc golf course. Lots of trails to walk and bike, one section has sand dunes.

Visit the Campbell Tract area for a nice 1 mile paved walk with the forest. I've seen moose there many times. You can also take the adjacent trail through the woods.

Local spot just off the highway to stop and look for cook Inlet Belugas in the ocean. If you turn around you might see doll sheep on the mountain behind you. Be careful crossing the railroad tracks if you decide to do that.
