Food scene

Some of our favorite food in Guadalajara is in St Tere. You will find an amazing market there, and some delicious and seriously affordable eats. If you want something very traditional, try Carnes Garibaldi for some 'carne en su jugo' or plates of carnitas.

PUT THAT PHONE AWAY

Not just to observe the goings-on around you and be in the moment, but to avoid a very unhappy situation. Your phone is worth much more to a Mexican person than it is outside of Mexico, so be mindful taking it out, especially at night.

Always Check Your Uber Plate/Driver

Uber is a fantastic way to get around Guadalajara, and you will find it much cheaper than at home. But make sure the person driving you or delivering your Uber Eats is who they say they are.

Don't Lose That Paper!

The FMME that should have been provided to you by your airline for free is something you really must hold on to! If you lose it, you may not be notified by anyone on your return flight, and it could cost you your flight if you don't have it. If you lose it, you can pick up another with an immigration officer in most Mexican airports for 500 pesos. Just make sure you have one when you're boarding that plane home!
