Nestled deep in the Ffynnone woods is a beautiful clearing and impressive waterfall. You can swim in it and have picnics. It is a lovely place and only 5 mins drive to the carpark and then a short walk. According to the Mabinogi (legendary Welsh stories compiled in the middle ages), Ffynone Waterfall is the gateway to Annwfn, an underworld that lies much deeper than our own.

It is a lovely place and only 5 mins drive to the carpark and then a short walk. Be warned this is NOT Folly Farm. But they have lovely shire horses, donkeys and a friendly cat. Cafe. It’s quite bonkers here but we like it like that!

The bare bones of a burial chamber (debatable) that would originally have been covered with an earthen mound. The giant 16½ft/5m ‘capstone’ appears to be precariously balanced on three ‘uprights’, though it has remained in place for over 5,000 years.
Pentre Ifan’s sense of mystery is heightened by its surroundings and backdrop. Its outline neatly frames the Preseli Hills towering above, source of the famous Pembrokeshire ‘bluestones’ that went into the making of Stonehenge as well as Pentre Ifan itself.

OW Camp 70; as it was known during WW2, housed over 1,200 Italians during the war. The Italians had no place of worship and so they gave up one of their “huts” and converted it to a Catholic church. This hut STILL stands to this day. Incredible! You will need to contact the site to arrange a visit, but it is so worth it.

Tresaith Waterfall
Its only a very short walk to reach this spot. From the outside, you would never expect to find such a gem hidden at the centre of Rosebush quarry. Surrounded by rock and slate, the small freshwater lake is a calming and tranquil place. The translucent emerald green water is perfect for a swim but be warned, its pretty cold!
Walk time 10 mins Drive from fforest 20 mins /Manorafon 35mins Start at Tafarn sinc in Rosebush follow track for about 500m the quarry is nestled among the mounds to your right. Notes The quarry is equally as beautiful in rain or shine but visit on a warm sunny day and you will experience some truly magical scenery

Nice small plates food place. Quite pricey - so more as a treat. I wouldn’t bother taking a picky child (I have one) but I would take a teenager who will try anything (I have one of those too).
