This is a great place nearby to drop the kayaks and/or tubes in and float right to the front of the lake house. It would probably be a 1-2 hour trip depending on river flow etc.

A must see if you go to San Antonio. It's a beautiful riverside walkway with a lot of charm, many shops and restaurants. Boat tours aren't free but offer some cool insight into the area. This is walking distance from the Alamo

They have a good variety of entertainment (arcades, bowling, paintball, airsoft, movies) under one roof. The movie theatre has recliners and delicious food. We went for a family night and we very pleased with the quality of food and enjoyed it being brought right to us in our comfy recliners. There is another EVO in New Braunfels, but it isn't as large as the one in Schertz.

We went for a family night and we very pleased with the quality of food and enjoyed it being brought right to us in our comfy recliners. There is another EVO in New Braunfels, but it isn't as large as the one in Schertz.

Another beautiful hike near the dam outlet, but more strenuous than the other one. You definitely want to wear appropriate hiking shoes for this one.
