Lovely old building with excellent views from the garden, good food and family friendly with outdoor fenced play area. A good place to head on foot with a direct route on footpaths from home, taking just a couple of hours one way.

Dog friendly for meals within their Kitchen Marquee, pre booking recommended.
Situated in a very interesting canal basin and within, and surrounded by, old warehouse buildings from times gone by. Beautiful outlook with outside seating, just on the northern edge of the town. Also has a Gin bar.

My favourite place to eat for special occasions, but can be tricky make a reservation due to its popularity. Set menu 2 or 3 course, reasonably priced for the type of food. Good for lunch time too and right in centre of town. Maybe not suitable for young children.

One of the largest reservoir in Europe and a lovely drive into the county of Rutland with great villages and pubs. The nearby town of Oakham is worth a visit too.

Naseby battle was extremely local to us, our house sits on part of that history as the route that the Royalist took in retreat. There are various references to the battle such as the 'lookouts' with visual information, seen at the flag poles, the Prince Rupert one is visible from our house.
