If you hike up to Mariensaule, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view over Trier ! (30 min by foot from the house)
Cross the Kaiser Wilhem Brücke, turn left, and walk along the Mosel. This is Zurlauben, also called Uferpromemade. Have a beer in the summer just sitting on the stairs of the Uferpromenade at Zurlauben, or enjoy a snack at PAULANER In Zurlauben :)

Not so far from our house, you can find the Sirzenicher Wasserfall ; it’s a nice hike in the forest. You can start directly from our house ; it’s a 40 min walk there up and down the Römerstrasse to the forest!

A bit further away, enjoy the captivating forest and waterfall of Irrel! Multiple trails start from the main waterfall. The massives stones in the area have a charming prehistoric look.

If you like walking in the forest along the river and small waterfalls, then the Butzerbachtal in Kordel is for you. There is a parking close to the beginning of the trail.

If you are serious about biking, you can cycle from Trier to Mettlach and enjoy the beautiful scenic road along the Mosel ! The original fabric of the ceramic manufacturer Villeroy & Boch is still located in Mettlach :)
