NOT in WINTER. This is the Rose test garden. There are rows and rows of beautiful roses. The view of the city is incredible. A great stop on the way to the zoo or children's museum. Free entrance.

Iconic falls less than a 40 min drive up the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. You can keep going past the falls to Hood River, Oregon. Hood River has a quaint main street with multiple small local business and breweries. Down near event site there is a playground on the river, or you can watch the kiteboarders and wind surfers.
If you don't have a car, you can still see the Columbia Gorge on the Columbia Gorge Express. https://columbiagorgeexpress.com/
All day ticket to get on and off at multiple locations in the Gorge is $12. For just Multnomah Falls, it is $5 for roundtrip.

This is Amber's favorite Thai restaurant in the city. Great fresh ingredients, humanely raised meat without hormones, and wonderful flavors. Our favorite dish is Khao Soi Gai. We get it almost every time we go.

When it is raining out, we LOVE pho. This unassuming restaurant has great pho, good service, and will bring you a small bowl and scissors to share with young kids. We go here frequently in the winter. Definitely worth checking out.

Forest Park is one of the largest forests located within a city. There are great hiking trails throughout the park. Located on the East side of Downtown Portland, you can finish off your hike by visiting a cafe or restaurant in the main part of the city.
