There are several reservoirs around, Langsett Reservoir is a lovely walk 10 mins away with great places for picnics, paddling with both woodland and water.
Lady Bower Reservoir, great day out 30 mins away.
Scout Dike Reservoir, 10 mins drive for walking and fishing followed by a treat at Yummy Yorkshire

Yummy Yorkshire - this is an ice cream parlour that has events and functions on throughout the year with more going on in the holiday season. It also has a fantastic cafe/ restaurant/ takeaway called the Hide & Hoof.

The grounds are quite vast so there are plenty of walk trails which are fantastic.
