The Dutch Maid Bakery is Tennessee's oldest family-owned bakery. Founded in 1902 by John & Louise Baggenstoss (Swiss immigrants who moved to Tennessee in the 1880's), baker Cindy Day is only the third owner. She's continued the traditional baking of the Dutch Maid from scratch. Their breads, pastries, sweets, soups and sandwiches are crowd pleasers.

Great original buildings throughout this timeless property.

Arnold Air Force Base currently has two entry gates with decommisioned aircraft on display, just outside of the closed-to-the-public airbase. Each aircraft includes a memorial to pilots who paid the ultimate price when serving their country. A powerful experience - suitable for families.

The Old Stone Fort has river-wrapped trail through a very old archaeological site. The park’s museum consists of displays of prehistoric Native American replicas as well as dioramas and photos. The Old Stone Fort was built during the Middle Woodland Period, 1,500-2,000 years ago. Native Americans used this area continuously for about 500 years, eventually leaving it abandoned. By the time European settlers arrived, it was unclear of what the area had been used for which resulted in it being misnamed as a fort.

A family favorite hiking trail when staying at Pelham Pointe cabin. The views are amazing and the Stone Door is epic! The short 1.5 mile trail is easy for everyone, and you can even take pets that are on a leash. Highly recommended.
