You can walk to Haydon Old Church (where the village used to be before it moved down to the river) from the Cart House in about 20 mins up the road or via the public footpath across the fields.

Originally built in the 7th Century, then built up in the 12th Century with later additions in the 20th Century. The Saxon Crypt remains as does the Frith Stool.
