Blackpool Sands is a stunning beach just ten minutes drive from Ebony. Great for families with its cafe, shop and toilets. Arrive early to ensure car parking spaces in peak season!
The lighthouse is about a 30/40 minute drive from Ebony, but it’s well worth it. In the summer you can take a tour up the lighthouse and learn about its history. There are also beautiful walks and beaches from there, so take comfy shoes and a picnic and enjoy a lovely family day out.

The lighthouse is about a 30/40 minute drive from Ebony, but it’s well worth it. In the summer you can take a tour up the lighthouse and learn about its history. There are also beautiful walks and beaches from there, so take comfy shoes and a picnic and enjoy a lovely family day out.
Great for kids, or big kids who like trains! A lovely way to see some of the beautiful coastline. I think there is a round robin trip that you can do which involves the train and then a boat ride!

Coleton Fishacre is a beautiful National Trust property located just across the river. Depending on the ferry queue it’s probably about a 10/15 minute journey from Ebony. The gardens are absolutely stunning, the house itself is beautiful and really interesting, and they have a lovely cafe which serves really good food. On a good weather day it’s a great day out.

The gardens are absolutely stunning, the house itself is beautiful and really interesting, and they have a lovely cafe which serves really good food. On a good weather day it’s a great day out.
Another beautiful house and gardens day out! I haven’t been for a while but I remember the walled garden being particularly stunning, and the kids loving the croquet lawn.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in town! Not the cheapest, but everything is always absolutely delicious and the staff are amazing. Treat yourselves to dinner here at least once during your stay!

This place is a super cool little hang out. They do amazing brunches, great burgers and incredible roasts during the winter. Or you can just go for drinks. Be sure to book if you want food because they are limited when it comes to space, it’s cozy!

You can’t stay in Dartmouth and not go to Alf’s. Great for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Delicious food, chilled, fun atmosphere and super welcoming for families.

This is my usual go to for a quick but tasty lunch in town. Panini, toasties and salads are all great and available to take away for a picnic in the park or nearby Avenue Gardens. Also all the usual deli treats of delicious cheeses, olives, meats etc can be picked up here too. And the chocolate and raspberry brownie is really bloody good.

Newly renovated the Sail Loft has swiftly become a firm favourite in town. It’s great, they do fantastic pizzas, sharing platters, wine tastings, cocktails. Definitely a must visit on a night out.
