Central Park, venue of the Budapest Eye and favourite meeting place for young tourists and locals full of pubs and restaurant and a good starting place for a downtown city walk to the Basilica, the Parliament, the Danube Embankment, Chain Bridge (which is unfortunately under reconstruction, so you cannot cross - go by Metro2 or boat - in summer - to the other side)

You can actually go in the Parliament in high season via the Visitors Centre, or just take a walk around and go to see the famous 'Shoes' memorial on the embankment in front of the gian building.

My favourite city walk is starting from Kálvin sq via Liberty (Szabadság) bridge (my favourite bridge!) by Gellért sq (where the famous Gellért Bath is) straight up to the monument. The view is stunning from here onto the Danube beneath.
