Jim and I spent a lovely afternoon with the Revolution Rail Co, rail biking on their North Creek route. The tour lasted a couple of hours. Advance reservations highly recommended.

The Revival is the former Wells Baptist Church, a beautiful Greek Revival Church built in 1845 and on the National Historical Register. It was bought by a private owner and has been lovingly restored and re-purposed as a concert and occasion venue. The Revival is available for weddings, funerals, special occasion celebrations, as well as having weekly concerts and jams.
They also hold a bi-weekly farmer's market during the summer, where you can purchase home made breads, soups, jams, fresh produce, etc.

Ausable Chasm is a uniquely-carved, vertical-walled canyon composed of 500 million-year-old rock (Potsdam sandstone). They have adventure trails, lantern tours, raft float and tubing, rappelling, and rock climbing. Fun for all ages!

Moffiitt Beach is our favorite place to take the grandkids. The water is shallow for swimming, and the scenery is beautiful.

Lakeside Tavern is one of five Lanzi family restaurants in the Great Sacandaga Lake area. Casual dining, the menu offers such items as burgers and fries, tacos, fish dishes, soups, salad's etc. We at there for the first time this summer (2023) and had a great experience with good food and good service.

Hiking
Fawn Lake is a hidden gem and well worth the visit. You can take a short half-mile hike or a two-mile hike. The lake has crystal clear water and the shores are shady and laden with moss. Just magical - you won't want to leave.
From NY 8 take Tamarack Road to its end, then left of Fawn Lake Road. Follow Fawn Lake Road past the snowplow turn around and the end of the paved road. Follow the dirt road 0.1 miles to a wide pull off at a sharp right turn. Parking is available here. Follow the trail - you will come to a fork. Stay to the left for the short half-mile hike and go right for the 2 mile hike.
