Delicious Thai food right down Excelsior Street on Mission Street. Since Covid, they mostly do take out and it is a great way to have a delicious meal at home without all the cooking. Tell Ben and Sunita that Inés sent you!

Really fresh and tasty authentic Chinese food very close to home. They have an extensive menu and reasonable prices. Order by phone or online and go pick it up... they have a parking lot that you enter on Alemany Boulevard.

The most delicious broth and ramen you could imagine. They open at 5 pm and there is always a line. I believe that you can get on the waitlist through Yelp. This restaurant is in Japantown inside a mall with some nice curio stores.

Sightseeing

This is one of my all time favorite hiking trails nearby. Beautiful views of the ocean below as you walk above, and then of course the option to go down to the beach and walk along the coast. There is a large parking lot. There are also many dogs (often off leash) with their owners nearby. Hang gliders take off from this spot when the wind is just right. Get some exercise while breathing the fresh ocean breeze.

Nice place to walk in nature along the San Francisco Bay and get views of the Golden Gate Bridge. You can even walk up the trail to the bridge from there, and walk across the GG Bridge.

This park is 5 blocks from our home. Walk up Excelsior Ave to enter. Please note the Blue Water Tower as your landmark to return to this side of the park to get back home. The park is the second largest SF park after Golden Gate Park. Nature and views... what else could you ask for. The Jerry Garcia Amphitheater is there and sometimes there are free concerts and events taking place there.

Take a peaceful walk amongst the coastal redwoods across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin. Please note that you need to reserve a parking spot ahead of time.

A beautiful park with so many different areas to explore and enjoy… SF Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Stowe Lake, De Young Museum, Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers… Also there is often live music at the bandshell, a great children’s playground, roller skating area… and so much more!
