It's a beautiful, and short native bush walk that comes to an incredible grove of our native Kauri - Tane Mahuta! Drive 2km along the coast road towards Waiomu, past the Waiomu Beach Cafe, then turn next right and follow the road up until road ends, to start your Kauri Grove walk. Allow about 30 minutes each way.

Thames has many places of historic interest (Thames is an old Gold mining Town) and is gateway into Kauaeranga Valley Forest Park for river swimming, short or longer native bush walks (e.g the Pinnacles Tramp). The Kauaeranga Visitors Centre is 13km up the valley, from Thames. Thames is 12km from our airbnb. Thames for food supplies.
