Situated on the Seabird coast is a traditional New Zealand pub. It is seaside on the Firth of Thames in the village of Kaiaua. Delicious food and a courtesy van are available.

Kaiaua is a small seaside settlement located North of Miranda on the Shorebird Coast and over the Firth from Thames. With Miranda close by the Miranda Shorebird Centre and Miranda Orchard and Gallery along with Rangipo Museum and Pa Site are all well worth a visit. Slightly north of Kaiaua on East Coast Road is the shipwreck HMNZS Hinau, a Royal New Zealand Navy WWII minesweeper. Best access for this is along the foreshore. No stop to Kaiaua is complete without a feed of Fish and Chips from the legendary Kaiaua Fish and Chip shop. Kaiaua also features on the Hauraki Rail trail as the starting point on the Pacific Coast Highway. Reference: 'The Coromandel' website
