You can drive through the old growth groves, stop along the road for pictures, hiking or just drinking in the beauty of the trees and their environs. Redwood National Park has it all - old growth groves, hikes to the beach, beach access, elk , and serenity, all for free and all of the parks are 30 to 40 minutes from the Eureka/Arcata area.
