Connect with the military history of 1830s. A nice park where the original Fort was located. Indian River Drive to Jensen Beach makes a great "Old Florida" getaway. Lots of nice mansions and just as many of the "Old Florida" homes.

Beautiful city parks on S Hutchinson Island! Walk the Jetty out into the Ocean. Lots of fish, Kite Sailing, Surfing in the vicinity. Several nice ocean-side spots to get a drink and just enjoy the view.

My favorite trail. Gets you into the mangroves and out onto the river. Several interpretive signs. Sometimes really good birding, including the pink roseate spoonbills. Sometimes lots of Louisiana Heron and little blue Herons. Of course, we have lots of them in view on the condo pond as well.... just outside the lanai!

Just a reminder that from March to November , we have SEA TURTLES nesting on all our beaches, not just Turtle Beach. There are some naturalist guided tours, but you might have to find them online.

Nice family beach, sand offer a harder surface for walking, large expanses of sand, life guards on duty. Next to the Inlet State Park, excellent surfing closer to the Inlet. Lots of walking trails within the State Park.

Very nice overview of the local culture and history. Prehistoric Indians, Spanish galleons/treasure, Seminole Indians, cattle ranches, fishing culture, WW2, etc.

Two Tiki Bars for fun, a nice park and boating atmosphere on the Indian River. We think of this as Historic Ft. Pierce. Watch manatees at the Manatee Center, and in the Marina. The Green Markets are here, as well as the big Saturday Farm and Art Markets. The Jazz club offers free live music all day Saturday. Many of the local festivals are here as well.

A lovely drive from Ocean Village south to Jensen Beach on the A!A. Many Ocean and Indian River preserves along this route. Safe and Beautiful stretches of Ocean beach.

Entertainment & Activities
I mention this mostly because you will pass it on the A1A as you drive to Jensen Beach. Manatees are supposed to spend a lot of time in the vicinity because of the warm water discharges. But I haven't figured out where to look for them!

Vero Beach is where we usually go Boutique Shopping. One of the wealthiest small towns in Florida. Great Beach, Lots of great eateries right on the beach. Several big Malls, and outlet mall, and lots of nice art galleries and shops just off the beach.
