Spitalfields is vibrant and 10mins walk from the flat. The best day to go is Sunday when all the market traders and fashionistas have their stalls set up: you can often get quirky London memorablia.

You can't visit London without visiting the Tower! Check out the beefeaters in their red coats that guard the Tower, and the ravens which protect it. The Crown Jewels are also worth a look!

I love Leadenhall Market. Many scenes in Harry Potter were filmed here and it has some lovely non-chain eateries. It is less than 10 mins walk from the flat.

Should be good signtseeing to look at the pirate ships but there is never anyone there... so it can be a bit of an odd experience!

Not to be missed! A whole street full of curry houses! Remember to negotiate before you go in, you can usually get a discount or a free bottle of wine (though better to bring your own!)

It's nice and picturesque with great views over Tower Bridge and the Thames - though on the North side in St. Katharine Docks, we get the sun so I prefer the bars on the North side.

Beautiful + spectacular place where you can take some lovely photos. It used to be a ship building/repair yard. You can play boule here indoors and there is also an amazing moving fountain of a ship.

Borough Market is on Fridays and Saturdays. Not to be missed, lots of artisan foods like olives and cheeses and organic food and vegetables. Lots of lovely eateries around the fringes of the market.

ALWAYS ask and see if Cirilo HIMSELF is cooking. If he is, ask him what specials he has available. Cirilo provides some of the best food that we have ever eaten and is very reasonably priced indeed.

We love Red Chilli because of the great curry, though you might expect this in the East End, but it also has great atmosphere and wonderful staff such as Rajon, Khalid and Liek. Reasonably priced.

A really excellent restaurant. Does a stellar tasting menu. Not cheap but food is very good. Up market but often not many people in there.
