You can go for dinner, or lunch or just for drinks at night. MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT... If you go, you MUST try the warm tofu that they make twice a day, I'm usually not a fan of tofu but this one changed my mind. Also the stone organic chicken is amazing, and so is the miso cod... Obviously the sashimi of the chef are incredible. They have great tasting menus, absolutely worth it. Their cocktails are delicious too, the ginger one is my go-to. Oh and last but not least: try the black sesame ice cream... And (discretely) look around you, Sofia Coppola, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Martha Stuart, Yoko Ono dine here sometimes... If you're a group you can also reserve a room... great experience.

Israeli home cooking and simple decor. Very comfy and easy. The chachouka eggs are my favorites, served with an israeli salad. Also their hummus falaferl and babaganoush are perfect. I've been with the kids, or with friends for dinner, and both work!

Just the best pizza around. Thin crust yet not dry. Also great home made hummus. They deliver, but the restaurant is nice, with large booths were you can actually hear each other!

fun pop ice cream. It's a chain but the ice cream tastes pretty natural (not too sweet) and you can choose to have them dipped into chocolate and toppings (nuts, sprinkles etc). The hazelnut, the almond and the coconut ones are gooooooood.

Fun Mexican restaurant. I've only been for lunch but would love to go there at night. It's the type of restaurant I'm looking for when I travel. The decor is perfect, super simple but well thought out, and the restaurant opens wide into the street (when warm obviously). The cocktails and juices looked amazing but I didn't try yet!

Brunch, or dinner are probably the 2 best ways to experience Miss Lilly's. Jamaican restaurant, great food, great decor (it's the same owners as the Rock House in Jamaica). FUN, COOL, CHILL... love it!!!

Best baguette in New York hands down. Everything is good and authentic French there. You can also have Brunch or Lunch (maybe dinner even but it doesn't feel like a dinner spot to me for some reason). Absolutely go if you want the best of France.

French South-West cuisine. De-li-cious. The owner and chef is passionate and the staff is committed to everyone having a great experience. It's small and cosy, elegant yet simple decor. Love the place for dinner - or lunch! Week-end brunch is also unbelievable.

So. Good. And nice warm decor (like inside a boat - but subtle). Great meat, fish and great sushi rolls. Everything is good - you cannot go wrong. It gets a little loud in the main room at night, so now I tend to avoid it for dinner, but still love to lunch there once in a while. We had a brunch also and it was perfect.

Famous for its macaroons, all the pastries at Laduree are excellent. But less talked about is there perfect little garden in the back and nice Brunch options (very cost effective in my opinion). The main room is a little stuffy, so we only go in the warmer days... Or we just pick up pastries. Good for lunch too.

Mostly for kids... But also have adult clothing and shoes. If you like japanese style, with a French/Italian flair... Don't go there it's dangerous. Everything is so beautiful, the mini cashmeres for babies, the liberty fabric dresses, the italian boots or sandals... I try not to go because it's not cheap, but it's not overpriced, it's just the price of perfection : )

Parks & Nature

Perfection of a park above street level. From an old elevated railroad. Great escape from the city, except you need to avoid the week-end crowds by either visiting during the week or early... So many details, and now it goes pretty high up. Starts below 14th street. Not to miss.

Walking, running along the West Side Highway (it doesn't sound good, but there's a broad tree separation between the cars, the bikes and pedestrians). The park goes all the way down to Battery Park city. It's a very nice walk. And all the way up to Harlem!!! I definitely recommend going down, maybe swirling by the world trade center memorial and then either continue down, or go across to Chinatown or the Brooklyn Bridge if you're courageous. All this can be done by foot (with good shoes).
