This restaurant serves good simple mountain food. Open for lunch with inside seating and a terrace, this rustic chalet refuge is accessed by skiing the black runs from the top of the Grands Montets (Point de Vue or Pylons/Blanchots) or up an access cattrack for pedestrians from the Grands Montets midstation.

This restaurant serves good simple mountain food. Open for lunch with inside seating and a terrace, this rustic chalet refuge is accessed by skiing the black runs from the top of the Grands Montets (Point de Vue or Pylons/Blanchots) or up an access cattrack for pedestrians from the Grands Montets midstation.

The Emosson hydroelectric dam is situated in a spectacular setting above the little swiss village of Chatelard 19km from Chamonix. To get there from Chamonix take the Mont Blanc express towards Martigny and get off at Chatelard. Or go by car over the Col de Montets through Vallorcine and over the border into Switzerland.

This is a welcome addition to the Argentière après-ski scene. It is also open in summer, when lunch on the terrace is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon.
