The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and they are right on the lake with spectacular views of the volcanoes. Good piña coladas and the entrance fee can be deducted from food consumption.

Lake Atitlán has close to a dozen villages that can all be reached from Panajachel, each with a different flavor, from small and picturesque to busy and full of crafts. There is hiking from the different towns, some up the volcanoes, boat trips around the lake that leave from Panajachel, etc. Taking an early boat and having breakfast or lunch at the German's restaurant in Jaibalito is one of the nicest experiences.

This reserve is a beautiful, peaceful place that goes up the mountain where you can zipline. It is so big however, you won't run into the zipliners often. The ziplining is awesome; it has a view of the lake and the volcanoes as you zip over jungle. There are monkeys and coatimundis in a very natural setting. Vegetation types are interesting also, going from semi-tropical down below to more dry forest at the top.

They have excellent bread and a fairly good selection of wine and cheese, as well as chia, quinoa, seeds, teas, coffee.
