Abe's Cocina is about as original as you can get in the northern new mexico vibe category. Abe started this bar 60 years ago and is still hanging around, their breakfast burritos are fantastic. Nothing special, just classic tasty northern New Mexican cuisine.

Delicious ice cream! Lavender and Mexican Chocolate are my favorite, but they are happy to sample as many as you like. Good coffee, nice vibe, can sit by the river and reflect.

They run a chairlift in the summer that is stunning in beauty, worth a trip. You can also hike to Williams Lake and if you wish Wheeler Peak from this location.

The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is one of the famous landmarks in Taos. There is a nice hike behind the visitor center (across bridge on the left) that will wind around the gorge with less tourist and traffic. There are benches out there which are good to sit on, read on, and ponder with.
