Some of the best BBQ in the Austin area... and I've tried most of them. You don't go there for the atmosphere and decorations, you go there for the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeno cheese sausage.

Very good Tex-Mex restaurant. Nice outdoor seating, good margaritas and if your lucky, on some days, the local peacock comes around to pay a visit.

One of my favorite Austin restaurants... reasonably priced, high quality food open 24 hours. Their queso, migas, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches are all very good.

In the world of sushi, I consider this a good sushi restaurant. Nothing like the places I've eaten at in San Francisco or Seattle, but considering it's Texas, it's pretty good.

Entertainment & Activities
Without a doubt, the coolest movie theatre I have been to anywhere in the country. The food they serve is very good. They've got a cool bar with good beer selection. But coolest of all, they make custom trailers for all the movies they show. The custom trailers start 30 minutes before the movie and are typically hilarious.

This is a small sports stadium (seats 8,500) that hosts quite a variety of events. Minor league hockey (Texas Stars) use that as their home rink and it is mighty fine entertainment. The stadium also hosts music and other forms of entertainment.

Parks & Nature
The park is decent, but the there is a nice walking / bike path you can take in either direction to get some exercise. The path is in a greenbelt so your surrounded by nature.
