A must visit if you have a dog. There are hiking trails on the cliffs above the beach and access to the beach. It's an off leash dog destination, with hundreds of dogs running around at any time.

This is a big dirt mound during the day, and one of the most expansive views of the city at night. If it's a clear and calm night, it's a good place to walk up (there are a few different wide concrete pathways) and take in the view. There will be a few other groups of locals up there with you.

If you're in Union Square it's worth it to pop by Farallon just to have a drink / appetizer in the lounge and see the amazing decor. (check out their website below for a preview). I've had many special occasion dinners here (it can sometimes be a little loud and hectic - you can ask to be seated in one of the quieter rooms, there are several). Here's their description: The perfect date night restaurant for seafood lovers, Farallon's Jellyfish Lounge is whimsically representative of the restaurant's underwater theme. The "Jelly Bar" invites you into the restaurant, where custom-made jellyfish chandeliers float overhead and octopus stools sit next to glowing columns of kelp. Follow the "sandy ocean floor" to the caviar staircase covered with 50,000 iridescent indigo-blue marbles as it sweeps up to the balcony. http://www.farallonrestaurant.com/
