This trail is right down the street from our house. It goes primarily east and west, and it meets up with other trails, including the Minneapolis Greenway. If you go far enough east, you'll be in St Paul. This trail is great for walking, jogging, running and biking.

This park is one of our favorite places. It's beautiful and hilly. In it, you'll also find tennis courts, basketball courts and a soccer field. This is a great place to go walking, hiking, jogging, running and, in the winter, snowboarding. The bird watching here is also spectacular.

It's amazing to see such falls in the middle of a city. The falls change from season to season. There's also a walking trail to the Mississippi River. There are historic sites to see in the park.

Essentials

This is a great natural foods co-op. You don't have to be a member to go there. Everyone who works there is helpful, and they all seem to be happy to be there. The produce is mostly local and organic. There is a great variety of food items there and a great meat counter with counter people who know what they're doing and give great cooking tips.

This is a good, modern grocery store. The organic offerings are fewer, and the layout takes some getting used to. They have a good prepared food selection.

This is a small-town style, cheap second-run theater. The seats are old-fashioned but have cup holders. If you like popcorn, candy and/or a soda, you'll spend less on your tickets than you do on refreshments!

This museum was built in the ruins of an old flour mill that was destroyed in a massive explosion. Minneapolis was built on river power for flour mills that are no longer here. The museum shows the history of the mills and their intersection with American society through time. Well worth the trip!
