My faborite mueseum in the city. Features small, well-curated and easily digestible exhibitions of classic art, illustration and some modern special exhibits. Free on friday afternoons, and with live music in the beautiful glass atrium. Always on exhibit are the original library and office of J.P. Morgan which include coffered ceilings, italian tiling, original Shakespeare Folios, a Gutenberg bible, and tons of special historical first editions.

On a more manageable scale than the Metropolitan Museum of Art with great permanent collections of Egyptian and African art. Rotating exhibitions usually feature more modern artists and the experience of wandering through the galleries is always inspiring and eclectic.

BAM, Dekalb Market, Greenlight Bookstore, Green Grape food and provisions, and Fort Greene park. This part of town has a lot of new architecture, but some of the best brown stone and tree-lined streets and my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn.
