You can't come to Phoenix and mess Richardson's. If you want the best Southwest food you have ever tried go here! Great patio and the attached sister restaurant, Rokerij, is a wonderful steak house with a stunning basement bar.

You want to have a rum drink in the belly of a ship? This is it. A Tiki bar speak easy right in the middle of a coffee shop. Walk down the stairs and into the ship. I bet you have never been to a bar like this. Make a reservation because, it only seats a few people. Don't be late or they will give your reservation away.

Great college town nestled in the pines and smells like vanilla all summer long. About 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. 2 hour drive from the valley. Great downtown with many pubs and great places to eat. Right at the base of the ski resort in the winter and nice place to sleep over between Sedona and the Canyon.

Great college town nestled in the pines and smells like vanilla all summer long. About 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. 2 hour drive from the valley. Great downtown with many pubs and great places to eat. Right at the base of the ski resort in the winter and nice place to sleep over between Sedona and the Canyon.

Stop at a roadside cafe, hike in the red rocks along a creek as the tall pines shade you. One of my favorite spots.

Take a look to the South of where you are sleeping and you will see the Phoenix mountain preserve Piestewa Peak. I think it's the most hiked mountain in the US. It's dropped right here in our backyard and you can go climb it. Hard and easy trails everywhere around you!
