Kona is world famous for it's coffee so visiting a coffee farm is a must-see while you're in town. What's unique about Thunder Mountain, is the location. High above the tree-line, this coffee plantation is in one of the many different climate zones the Big Island has to offer. Visit a coffee farm and find out what makes Kona Coffee especially unique. There’s several farms to visit. We chose Mountain Thunder Coffee that gives free tours every 30 minutes plus you can enjoy free samples. A must for coffee lovers!

Great Coffee Farm that you can visit at 3200 ft elevation it is one of the highest. It has a cute gift shop and several tours to learn about how they process the coffee. It is a welcome break from the hot temperatures, usually it is a good 15 degrees cooler up there...

This 12-acre coffee farm lies upland in a lush jungle above 2,000 feet elevation. The elevation, rainfall and soil make this location part of the Kona coffee belt.
