One of the only places warm enough to swim around here in the summer. And, it's gorgeous!

String Lake is a very popular destination in the summer time for folks looking to cool down beachside in Grand Teton National Park. A popular place to paddle board, kayak, etc because the shallow waters warm too comfortable swimming by mid-summer. Paddling north on String Lake leads you to a portage into Leigh Lake, another lake at the base of the Tetons that offers stunning views.

Located on the Jackson side in Teton National Park This is a wonderful place to experience the park with family . The water is relatively warm and quiet for swimming and boating . Little sandy beaches scattered along the shore. If you are a little more motivated take a short hike north to visit Leigh lake with beautiful beaches and a long shallow shores .

A gorgeous clear lake (connecting Jenny and Leigh Lakes) in Grand Teton National Park right under the Tetons. Perfect for summer swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding. It is a very popular spot with limited parking so you should plan on arriving first thing in the morning... or in the afternoon once people start vacating. Really fun for families and groups too.

Great swimming and amazing views. Perfect place for a flat walk! Walking north along the east side of Leigh lake is probably the most scenic area with the least amount of people in the national park. Parking can be difficult in the middle of the day.
