Balmoral Beach has postcard-perfect views out through Sydney’s Heads—the entrance to the harbour. The water here is warm, there are no waves to speak of, and there’s an enclosure to protect swimmers—it’s fantastic. The Balmoral Baths ocean pool, at the southern end of the sand, has a walkway around the perimeter so you can jump into the water with ease. Go early in the day, go at high tide, and avoid busy Sundays. That will guarantee you space in the baths to float in peace and gaze at the sky and people strolling along the walkway. When you spot a free table on the patio at The Boathouse, jump out of the water and grab it—it’s a great spot for a coffee.

Balmoral Beach is a beautiful safe beach for swimming, walking, sightseeing, and any beach or boating or water activities. There are Stand-up paddle boards for hire from Balmoral Boat Shed. There are numerous take away cafe and higher end restaurant options. There is also famous fish and chip shop called Bottom of the Harbour on the corner of The Esplanade and Raglan Street. This is one of the prettiest beaches in the world.

Great restaurants, popular with families as this is not a surf beach so the waves dont get very high. Fantastic walk on the esplanade, sailing, SUP and kayaks for hire. We used to live there and know and love it.
