I used to hear a lot about this place when I was studying at the University of San Francisco, which is close by. The first time I went, I noticed that the facade really stands out—all this chrome, trying to be super modern. And then I entered into a bar that’s filled with amazing jazz. It’s a divey bar that has amazing jazz music. Most acts take requests, so come prepared with a list of songs—most times the band is able to do jazz renditions of just about anything. So if people are coming from out of town and they’re not super into jazz, they are still able to hear their favorite pop tune as a jazz rendition.

This is a great bar on Haight St. that has live music most nights of the week. Mostly jazz. Usually free, sometimes a small cover fee.

This is one of the best places for live jazz and blues. You'll find a group of enthusiasts dancing and enjoying music. Oh, and fab cocktails. Order the Moscow Mule or Greyhound.
