The Long Trail is a hiking trail located in Vermont, running the length of the state. It is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States, constructed between 1910 and 1930 by the Green Mountain Club.

A vast trail to hike to. If you have the stamina, you can hike all the way to the summit..it must be a great feeling to accomplish the hike there!

From 242, there is an entry across the road fro where all the cars are parked (at the crest of the hill between Jay and Montgomery). This takes you all the way up Jay Peak to the "Vermonter" trail.

Runs from Canada to Massachusetts and through Stowe. Good side trails for day hikes.
