The home of William H Seward who was the Secretary Of State to Abraham Lincoln. Seward was responsible for the purchase of Alaska often referred to as Seward Follies.
William Seward was the Secretary of State under Abraham Lincoln and the person responsible for the purchase of Alaska. An abolitionist, statesman and community leader, his home is one of the greatest living museums in the world with all contents belonging to and as it was when the Seward family lived here in the late 1800s.
