This place started out as a food truck and is crazy-good. It's another place that's hard to stick into a category. Asian-fusion? Whatever, It's just good. Get the classic bento for a great (extremely filling) sample of what they offer. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing cupcakes and other treats. Great place to grab a cup of coffee and satisfy your sweet craving. This isn't the original shop but it's every bit as cute.

Another former Austin original dining place that's completely retooled and now boasting fine eats with a cool interior. Love the artwork on the walls. The art served on the plates is equally satisfying. Not a bad meal on the menu.

Hit the greenbelt for an early walk. Less people during the week. On the weekends, it gets packed. If the water is flowing, it's a great place to hike and then jump in to cool off. There are several access points to the Greenbelt. We're fortunate enough to have one just a stone's throw from us!

This isn't just a brewery. Again, so many places in Austin just don't fit an Airbnb category. This place makes awesome beer and amazing food. Great music. It gets super busy on the weekends. I grew up around the corner from this place. My poor mom has to deal with the cars parked all around her house and the patrons dragging back to them late at night. Please go to ABGB and enjoy but please be cool to the neighbors and don't wake up my mom.

It gets super busy on the weekends. I grew up around the corner from this place. My poor mom has to deal with the cars parked all around her house and the patrons dragging back to them late at night. Please go to ABGB and enjoy but please be cool to the neighbors and don't wake up my mom.

Top notch craft cocktails in an iconic old building that used to be my dad's hang-out when he used to run the east side streets as a young man. You can still see the old "Rabbits" sign on the wall if you pay attention. Ultra cool mescaleria upstairs. It's a tight squeeze with upstairs but worth the experience if you can get in. Downstairs there is plenty of open air seating or a cozy table inside with very dark lighting that adds to the stepped-back-in time ambiance.
