Home to Appalachian State University, Boone has grown over the past several years, but has maintained it's small town charm. King Street is the original area and includes many small businesses including breweries, shops, restaurants, etc.
The new section of Boone (and more commercialized) is on the opposite side of town and offers the large town conveniences.
