Great pub a short stroll on the cobbled streets from the castle. They serve over 100 different gins in the pub and also have their own Guildhall Island Gin (named after the cobbled area where the pub is located). Perfect!

Sightseeing
The oldest inhabited castle in the world ... and we think the most beautiful! A must see when your'e here. Try and co-ordinate a visit when the guards are changing. (Note changing of the guard timings change depending on the time of year and what else is happening at the Castle).

The future king of England and his brother both went to school there! Eton College is an English independent boarding school for boys. It was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI. Heritage Tours are available through the schools website.

No visit to Windsor would be complete without walking or jogging along the Long Walk - no bicycles allowed though. This 3 mile tree-lined avenue stretches from the Castle to towards the impressive Copper Horse depicting George III on horse back. Red Deer can often be spotted too. Pop into the Two Brewers on your way back to quench your thirst.

Take this train to Slough to pick up the Great Western Railway main line. Trains run to and from London Paddington (many trains running into the early hours of the morning - the best bet after a night out in London), Maidenhead, Reading, Oxford, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcester Foregate Street, Hereford, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Bristol and many other destinations.

It's our local high street ... although it looks like it should be pronounced peas cod it's really pes cod! Lots of shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Pedestrianised to easy to wander about and take in the sight of the Castle at the top of the Street.

It's the best place to browse products from all the royal estates plus some delicious foods! Great to buy Royal presents for family and friends back home. There is also a super cafe for a well deserved break!
