Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs! Other note: - Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 years of age should bring photo ID - Group sizes of up to 14 participants - Alfie the dog is not always in attendance. Sorry! N.B. The South Bank, with its long riverside walkway and scenic views, is the perfect place to run and experience this dynamic city. I’m an athlete, photographer, and lifelong Londoner, ready to guide you on a 5K run with stops along the way and top tips for capturing the city on your smartphone. • We’ll set off on our five-kilometer run along the stunning South Bank, starting at the iconic London Eye. • As we jog east, we’ll pass the Royal Festival Hall, the city’s main concert venue, and see Gabriel’s Wharf, a popular spot for shopping and dining. • We’ll pause at the National Theatre to admire its architecture and snap photos while I share photo tips. • Then, we’ll cross the Millennium Bridge for breathtaking views of St. Paul’s Cathedral and check out the exterior of Tate Modern. Our final stop will be the world-renowned Shakespeare’s Globe, where we’ll unwind with relaxing riverside views. I invite you to join me to see Royal palaces and other iconic royal sites, hear personal stories of my experiences with members of the Royal Family and even get to see a piece of Prince William's and Kate's wedding cake! We will start at Trafalgar Square and hear about its history and then move on to see the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the King's Life Guard. We then walk along The Mall to St James' Palace and Clarence House where I will tell you tales of Princes William and Harry the night before William's wedding. Next is a short walk to Buckingham Palace where you will have more opportunities to take photos and hear stories of the Royal household. We then walk into picturesque St James' Park where there is a chance to pause (kiosk available for drinks) and look at gifts presented to me by members of the Royal family. On the way to Parliament Square I will tell you all about the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben). The final part of the walk takes us along Whitehall, past Downing Street (home of the Prime Minister) and then to the spot where King Charles 1st was executed. We will finish back at Trafalgar Square. Other things to note: If on the 2pm walk we will see a shortened Guard change at 4pm. We will have an opportunity on the way for a short stop for you to buy drinks and visit a toilet.

Karl Marx’s London: guided walking tour with a historian

Take a tour through the streets of Soho, the bustling central London district which in the 1850s was home to thousands of radical political exiles - including the young German philosopher Karl Marx. Guided by Dr Thomas Jones, an expert and scholar in refugee history, you’ll see the sites that shaped the lives of Marx and his growing family as they struggled to establish themselves in an unfamiliar country where they would spend the rest of their lives. We’ll assemble in Leicester Square, where in 1849 the Marxes joined hundreds of refugees escaping the collapse of Europe’s 1848 revolutions and found shelter at the nearby German Hotel. We’ll go on to visit the Marx residences at Dean Street, where they contended with poverty and disease as they navigated the perils of life in mid-Victorian London. We’ll see the headquarters the Communist League and the International Working Men’s Association, radical societies that Marx joined and for which he produced some of his most famous writing, including the Communist Manifesto. Along Soho’s winding streets, we’ll see the pubs and café’s where Marx’s fellow exiles gathered and made their plans to reignite revolution in Europe. As we stroll, Dr Jones will explain the details Marx’s life in exile, the impact of his time in exile on his ideas, and why London – and Britain- was the asylum of choice for refugees trying to change the world.

This class is designed to provide you with the essential groundwork needed for wax carving all whilst enjoying a complimentary drink in a relaxed, creative environment. Carving wax gives you endless options to freely design whatever ring you want, as you are not limited to a silver wire or strip. This technique allows you to create something 3D, abstract, classic, chunky, geometric or organic, so you can let your imagination run wild! The workshop begins with a short introduction to the lost wax process and its uses. The Ringsmiths will inform you about basic tips and tricks on how to design a comfortable ring. Showing you various techniques and tools that can be used. You will then start by designing/sketching out your ring, (samples and images will be available for inspiration) before beginning to carve your wax. Once you’re happy with your finished carving we will show you how to complete the ring and prepare it for casting. After the class your wax carved ring will be cast, finished and polished by The Ringsmiths using recycled silver. We will contact you once it’s ready for collection or we can post it out to you. If you wish to have your ring gold plated or have your wax cast in solid gold than this will be at an additional cost and can be paid for and decided on the day. Your finished silver ring will be ready for collection or posting within 3 weeks after the class.

*Price is per person so please book exact number of guests joining. Eg. A couple = 2 guests* Explore the uniquely beautiful Old Town of Edinburgh with your very own personal photographer! We start by meeting in the historic Grassmarket, a central and easy to find location. Places we visit include Victoria Street, The Vennel, Greyfriars Bobby, Royal Mile, St Giles Cathedral plus more! During the shoot, we will explore the many hidden, cobbled streets and alleys of the beautifully preserved Gothic Old Town that to me are quintessntially Edinburgh. Along the way, I will give you posing tips to capture stunning photos of your time in this memorable city! Most my guests have never had photos taken before and it's normal to feel a bit nervous or shy at first. I promise that within 15 minutes, you will feel natural and confident! Within 2 to 3 days, I will send you 30 beautifully retouched photos to your email! I run this experience in all weather conditions, so please dress accordingly. Feel free to bring any extra accessories or garments to change up your look during the shoot if you wish. Babies under 2 are free.

We'll discover the streets and secret alleyways of the Old Town area of Edinburgh, starting at Edinburgh Castle, then we'll wander down to "Diagon Alley" and find the gravestones of "Voldemort" and some other well known names in the Harry Potter series. We'll also spot "Hogwarts School" of Wizardry and find where the writer found her inspiration from. Learn about the famous and not so famous cafes where J.K. Rowling began her writing career and finished in the realms of luxury. The tour will last approximately 1 hour. However, please allow for an additional 20 minutes if tour runs over depending on group size, photo opportunities and question time. Other things to note The tour will be outdoors, whether rain or shine so come prepared to walk around for over an hour. If it is raining, I suggest to wear sturdy shoes - the graveyard can be muddy. Whisky et contes

Let us start by saying the whisky is optional, drink alternatives are available and the cost of the whisky is not included in the £18.00. We do this to make the event as inclusive as possible for drinker, non drinker, whisky lovers and whisky sceptics alike. The whisky or drink alternatives can be added-on on the day. We meet just off the iconic Royal Mile inside a café/bar called Hot Toddy. We have the entire downstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you. Other things to note This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. Feel free to turn up at Hot Toddy earlier to enjoy some food or drink before the event starts. Guests joining at 5pm or 7:30pm can also add a traditional Haggis dinner to their experience for an additional £14per person. This can be enjoyed in the venue upstairs, after the experience. People under the age of 18 are not permitted on this tour and exceptions can not be made I'm afraid.

Baies et plages du lac d'Ullswater en kayak

Ullswater, quite rightly, is considered the most beautiful of the big lakes. It features bays & beaches, islands and lots of scenery. The ethos on the trips is always the same. Enjoy the scenery, have a chat, pass on a bit of knowledge to, and learn from, people looking for a similar venture. The first thing we'll do is sort out what's needed for the trip and introduce the boat. We use double ( tandem ) sea kayaks, unless there is an odd number of people on the trip, then the single is available. This is followed by a quick brief on what to do, then it's on to the water. There's no set route or furthest out point. I'll always take the group and the conditions into consideration. There is beautiful scenery all along the lake. For afternoon trips during the school holidays, please park in the village rather than the Sailing Centre itself. Be aware, on sunny days, the area will get busy. Be aware that if you have a BMI of 26 or over, weigh over 102 Kg ( 16 Stones ), or have very little upper body strength, this Experience is not for you. This is based on previous guests experiences.

This tour includes a little of The Royal Mile and a lot of The Castle. Set aside time after your tour to explore. The price advertised does not include the entrance price to the castle, this is because some people book their own tickets in advance. You can purchase castle tickets directly from us at the start of the tour for your convenience. We meet on the Royal Mile and start by giving a little background history to Edinburgh and the Castle to help put everything into context. Moving up to the castle esplanade where you will learn about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and two of the most famous figures from Scottish history; Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Entering the Castle we stop by the Argyle Battery where you will learn about the 1 o'clock gun. Moving on we head down to the Hospital Square where we get impressive views from the Western Panorama before heading up towards the castle barracks and prisoner of war camp, all these areas have enthralling stories that only a guide can bring to life. We then climb to the top of Castle Rock entering the medieval section of Edinburgh Castle. Here we see the oldest building in Edinburgh, St Margaret’s Chapel and Mons Meg, a monstrous canon! The tour finishes in the Crown Square which is the heart of Edinburgh Castle and I will tell you all about the daring attacks against this iconic fortification.

Sights we'll see along the way include Downing Street, Westminster Abbey, Parliament Square, Horse Guard Parade, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament. Our last stop in Westminster before heading underground on the tube is the start of Westminster Bridge where we will be able to see the Eye and other sights. Then we'll go to the London Bridge area, we'll see Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, The Clink Prison, London Bridge, The old warehouse district, Borough Market, The Shard, views of the Square Mile, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London. Isle of Skye's only commercial smokehouse! A tour of the uniquely designed smokehouse is inspired to look like a traditional Scottish building called a cleit. A peat roof and stonewalled buildings from the bygone years. (Search on google St. Kilda and Cleit). Learn how the local alder wood is prepared by hand using an axe and used to fire the smokehouse and to create the smoke. I will talk about the various techniques of hot and cold smoking, wet and dry curing. Smell the secret 6 spice mix blend used in the current recipe to cure the salmon. Can you guess any of the spices? Finally the best bit tasting, Sample 5 different canapes. A twist on a Cullen Skink, Smoked salmon mousse on beetroot and blini, two additional tasting spoons.
