Great trip in the fall with your children for apple picking, apple cider, apple donuts and outdoor fun.

There’s everything you’d want from an apple orchard including beautiful views. At the top of a mountain, this place is good fun for the whole family. The kids loved the Bee Train, the apple cannon, the bamboo forest, the apple cider donuts, the playground, the frozen apple cider, the animals, and the playground. It was a wonderful day. Pick your own honey crisp, gala, fuji…whatever’s in season. Worth the drive to Zirconia.

When you think of the crisp Autumn Mountain Air, what is your first thought? Apple PICKING, of course!! First, we have great news, apple orchards are already open for picking! We have a perfect idea! You must visit Skytop Orchard, only a 20-minute drive from the Cabin on Blueberry Hill. The apple orchard is open seven days a week, 9 AM-5 PM every day. What can you expect? Onsite, you will have amazing 360-degree mountain views, ponds with ducks and geese, an amazing barnyard with various animals (including but not limited to sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks+), tractor-pulled hay(less) rides, picnic tables, a playground, and a bountiful amount of luscious apples and fruit trees! Oh, did we mention FRESH-MADE APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS? Stop by the market for fresh apples, frozen cider, baked goods, produce, and much more. Sky Top Orchard is dog friendly, yet the fruit stand area is (NOT). You can bypass the fruit stand to enter the orchard. Although, the orchard does not offer food. You can bring food on the property, so stop by the Campfire Grill, Honey and Salt, or the Flat Rock Village Bakery. On the weekends, we recommend arriving close to 9AM to bypass the crowds. Please keep in mind, we had a late frost, in the mountains, which impacted some of the crops, so the U-Pick is limited. Happy Picking!!
