A huge beach where you can walk for hours, do some parasailing or simply soak up the sun. Food venues are limited, but there are a couple of food trucks offering pub style food.
A 40 minute drive from Dover Retreat, this beach is a preferred spot for water sports like surfing. While it is a fun beach, the water here is rough with strong undercurrents. Make sure you are aware of this and be careful and safe.
It is best to purchase a pass at Long Point Provincial park ahead time and be the beach early to obtain parking.
Long Point Provincial Park is the 4th oldest provincial park in Ontario. It has over 1.5 km of beautiful sandy beach on the warm waters of Lake Erie, excellent fishing and boating opportunities, 5 km of park roadways for cycling and is one of the top bird watching destinations in North America. The popular day use area is open daily in the summer until 10:00 pm with parking and picnic areas adjacent to the parking lots, in close proximity to the beautiful sandy beach. Public washrooms are available.
