The 199 steps are iconic to Whitby. They offer great views, and at the top you can see St Mary's church and visit the Abbey. For those counting, you will find the steps numbered with small brass markers, to assist you!

The 199 Whitby Abbey steps are one challenge visitors to the town cannot resist. They’re one of our most famous attractions. The view once you get to the top is breath taking and so much history to visit and see once at the top!
