These guys made the list again, for a different reason. From December through March (January and February, being peak times) the humpback whales come down from Alaska to breed and give birth to newborns. This shop offers an exceptional sunset whale watch tour!

Dive shop. Go diving, snorkeling, or rent kayaks. The kayak rentals are a steal of a deal and you can go out right from Kawaihae harbor. Fantastic when the humpback whales are visiting!
