Once home to a dozen stone arch bridges, there are now only 5 remaining in Hillsborough. Each of these bridges are in place with the original stones and held together without the use of any mortar/cement. A lovely drive can let you see all of them, very near to each other on Gleason Falls Road, Beard Road and Jones Rd. A wonderful place to picnic, with waterfalls and an old swimming hole is nearby. Historic and beautifully constructed, these bridges offer excellent photographic opportunities (and perhaps a dip in the old swimming hole on a scorching summer day)
