The Midway Plaisance, known locally as the Midway, is a public park on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It is one mile long by 220 yards wide and extends along 59th and 60th streets, joining Washington Park at its west end and Jackson Park at its east end.

Overall, a really great place to read a book, go for a walk (I love it in the fall) go ice skating, play soccer (which you’ll see many doing), and just an open space to enjoy the greenery and architecture of the University of Chicago buildings at the same time.

Gorgeous boulevard that connects Washington Park with Jackson Park, and runs through the middle of the University of Chicago.

They have Movies at the Park during the Summer, close to U of C, great grassy knolls, and there is an ice skating rink for those just learning or for smaller kids.

During the World Columbian Exposition of 1893, Midway Plaisance Park was filled with amusement park rides and attractions. Today, the park serves as a connector between Jackson and Washington Parks, featuring paths for biking, walking and jogging. It's also the home of the ornate "Fountain of Time" statue, which features Father Time standing over a reflecting pool.
