A Shinto Shrine devoted to the famous ancient scholar, Sugawara no Michizane, dubbed as the god of learning. He was an excellent poet too. Get one of those "omamori" charms here for souvenir!

★湯島天満宮 菅原道真公(学問の神様)を祀る天満宮。。受験シーズンの「絵馬かけ」、「梅まつり」のシーズンには特に混雑します。 (Address)東京都文京区湯島３−３０−１ 建設： 西暦458年 ★湯島天満宮 宝物殿 「宝物殿」には、社の神輿や、町内神輿をはじめ所蔵の宝物類を展示している。拝観時間は午前9時～午後5時で、拝観料として一般の場合500円。
