Built during second world war (1943) this partisan hospital was able to cure numerous wounded soldiers and hiding them during the german occupancy

Preserved WWII resistance hospital, hidden in a gorge. UNESCO heritage candidate. You can drive either over Jelovica Plateau or around it via Škofja Loka. Non stop drive a bit over an hour and a half.

The Franja Partisan Hospital, located in Cerkno, is a reconstructed monument of immovable cultural heritage dating from the Second World War, and at the same time a symbol of the struggle, humanity and heroism of Slovenes who, together with other freethinking nations, rose against fascism and nazism.
