Liberty Ships used to be built in South Portland to supply war efforts in Europe during WWII.

A 10 minute car ride to South Portland. Bug Light (lighthouse) where you can walk the break wall. Also, experience the Liberty Memorial. As a Navy Veteran and history consumer this checks off a few boxes. Architecturally beautiful. Informative. Artistically emphatic to the community's sacrifice.
