Nice hiking trails a minute north on rt 1a. The trails will bring you out to the northern part of Pettaquamscutt Lake

King Benson Preserve Trail is a 3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Saunderstown, Rhode Island that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
