The Art Loeb Trail. Stretches for 30 miles. Closest to Asheville it crosses the highway at Milepost 420, about 30 min from Asheville NC. Spectacular view from Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain.

Great place to park for an easy stroll along the Davidson River or to hike the epic Art Loeb.

Art Loeb is a very long trail with many entrance points. My favorite part is near Black Balsam.

A beautiful bald Art Loeb and Sam’s knob are on the same bald.
